Public Notice - Caneyville Reservoir

9/15/26: We were notified by KDPH that the Energy and Environment Cabinet (EEC) sampled water from Caneyville Reservoir in Grayson County. The test showed elevated microcystin levels, indicative of a harmful algal bloom (HAB). EEC samples this water body as part of their routine lakes and fish tissue monitoring program and staff observed an active algae bloom near the dam. EEC will be issuing a recreational advisory for the entire reservoir, and DOW intends to sample again in two weeks.
