Dr. Joe Lee
Medical Director

Dr. Joe Lee grew up in Grayson County, attending St Joseph Grade School. He attended high school at St Joseph Prep School in Bardstown and received a BS from the University of Notre Dame, where he met his future wife, Nadyne. He received his MD from the University of Kentucky Medical School and completed his Residency in Pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio, before returning to Leitchfield. He and Nadyne began Leitchfield Pediatric Clinic in 1976, providing the first pediatric care to Grayson and many of the surrounding counties. Nadyne was one of the first Pediatric Nurse Practitioners in Kentucky.
Dr. Lee began his service on the Grayson County Health Department Board 50 years ago and has served on the board since 1976. He began as the Medical Director in 2013 and works once a week in the Family Planning Clinic.
Dr. Lee and Nadyne have three children, David, Merry Beth, and Mark. David is a general surgeon in Columbus, Indiana; Merry Beth works as a social worker/counsellor for Communicare in Elizabethtown, and Mark is an OB/GYN in Leitchfield. Dr. Lee and Nadyne have four grandsons.
Dr. Lee served as President of the Kentucky Pediatric Society from 1999 to 2000 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He serves on the Grayson County Health Foundation Board. Each June, he volunteers in a medical mission in Peru, serving the children in Chulacanas and the surrounding desert and mountain areas. He also volunteers at the Family Community Clinic in Louisville, serving immigrants and patients without insurance. He is a member of St Joseph Church in Leitchfield.
