9/15/26: We were notified by KDPH that the Energy and Environment Cabinet (EEC) sampled water from Caneyville Reservoir in Grayson County. The test showed elevated microcystin levels, indicative of a harmful algal bloom (HAB). EEC samples this water body as part of their routine lakes and fish tissue monitoring program and staff observed an active algae bloom near the dam. Join us for the 2026 GCHD Community Day! The 2026 GCHD Community Day will be held on October 29th, 2026, from 4 pm to 5:30 pm at the health department. This year's theme will combine Halloween and disaster preparedness. There will be free snacks, trick-or-treating, an open house, and a couple of door prizes.
